Who we are.

Ilmara Academy is a recently founded place of learning.

It’s name is derived from two Arabic words, Ilm and Ara. The former means “knowledge” and the latter suggests “opinions”. Ara also has roots in Persian, where it means “adorning” or “decorated”. Therefore, we conceptualised the fusion to mean “Adorned with Knowledge”.

At Ilmara, we aim to provide high quality educational services to improve our students’ abilities to learn, hone their knowledge, polish their skills and help develop them into confident, successful adults of the future.

This also perfectly aligns with our motto “sic parvis magna”, which translates to “greatness from small beginnings”, a famous phrase associated with Sir Francis Drake, the English explorer.
